LNS 252 - Bling It Up CAS Style

Happy Monday!

Welcome to the latest LNS Challenge - Bling It Up CAS Style!

A few rhinestones really add the finishing 'bling' touch to a CAS card. I really like the font and design of the two sentiments in the Million and One stamp set.

I kept the inside CAS with a little bit of bling.

Please visit the LNS Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT created. We would like to see your Blinged Up CAS creation. The LNS Challenges run for two weeks so you have plenty of time to share with us :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:  Crisp Cantaloupe and Whisper White CS, Lullaby DSP, Crisp Cantaloupe Ink, Baked Brown Sugar Think Baker's Twine, Rhinestones, Petite Petals Punch, Million and One and Petite Petals Stamp sets.

Are We There Yet?...Travel Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday!

This week's Impression Obsession Challenge is a fun one--Are We There Yet? (travel theme).

Having grown up on the coast, most Summer days were spent at the beach and our Summer vacations were always spent at beach towns. So, when I saw this travel challenge, the first thing I thought of was the beach!

I created an Are We There Yet? Tic Tac Toe Easel Card to keep the kids occupied while traveling to their vacation destination:

I used the IO Seashell DIE077-W for the tic tac toe pieces. Each tic tac toe piece is three layers--patterned paper for the front, layered on cardboard (cereal box), and finally coordinating card stock for the backing.

The finished card is 6 x 6 (6 x 12 card stock scored at 3 and 6).

The seashells are adhered with velcro dots and the 10th seashell is housed on the easel holder. The two side seashells are decorative and adhered with dimensionals.

I am entering this card/game in the following challenges:

IBS Sewing Machine Giftbox

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am sharing a cute gift box using three IBS stamp sets: Fancy Labels 3, Vintage Thread, and Big Notes in French.

Do you have family and/or friends that like to sew? This sewing machine is an adorable gift to give someone.  And, it was so fun to create.

The sentiment and decorative edge around the ‘wheel’ are from the Fancy Labels 3 stamp set. I used the circle die from the Fancy Labels 3 Dies to cut the sentiment. These coordinating sets are so versatile-whether making cards, scrapping, or creating gifts/3D projects, you will find yourself reaching for these sets.

I love the Vintage Thread stamp set. It is so cute to wrap ribbon, lace, or twine around the spool images and use them for embellishments or gift-giving.

The slide-out box measures approximately 4½ x 2¼ x 1½, so there is plenty of room for chocolates, crafting goodies, etc.

Of course the back of the sewing machine needed to be decorated as well! The Oh la la! and Magnifique! sentiments are from the Big Notes in French stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed my gift box and ideas for using the stamps sets I featured. Please visit the Inspired by Stamping Blog to see what Vicki is sharing there along with me today.

SU Sea Street Thank You

Happy Saturday!

I inked up the SU Sea Street stamp set for my May Thank You cards. There are so many cute images in this new set. I was 'sold' on it as soon as I saw the adorable, smiling octopus.

This card was quite simple to create. The starfish/speckle image was stamped three times along the bottom of the Coastal Cabana mat. I used a Circle Framelit to cut the opening and stamped the octopus through the opening so it would be perfectly centered inside the card. A couple of punched banners, some baker's twine, and the stamped/die cut sentiment finished off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:  Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Real Red and Whisper White CS, Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, and Real Red Ink, Baker's Twine, Banner Punch, Bitty Banners and Circle Framelits, and Itty Bitty Banners, Gorgeous Grunge, and Sea Street Stamp Sets.

IBS Ahoy Matey! Pictorial

Happy Friday!

Today I have a long overdue tutorial to share with you. Back in March I posted this card I made using the Inspired by Stamping Ahoy Matey! stamp set and had a request (this is for you Marie-Louise!) for a tutorial on how I created it. I will be focusing on the wood grain background and 'porthole' window.

For today's tutorial (heavy on pictures!) I have changed the colors and sentiment from March's card.

Here is the card I will be showing you today:

OK, let’s get started-these are the supplies I will be working with:

The card base is 4¼ x 11, scored at 5½. The outer layer (yellow) and inner layer (ivory) are cut at 4 x 5¼. I will be using the yellow piece for the wood grain layer, which I scored every ½ inch.

First I ‘dragged’ a yellow ink pad along the card stock.

Next I used a medium brown ink.

Lastly, I sparingly used a dark brown ink. Please note, as the ink dries it will lighten.

Using removable adhesive, I placed the wood grain layer on the card base and used the 4th largest Framelit to cut the opening for the porthole.

Next I used the 3rd and 4th largest Framelits to cut the rim(s) for the porthole.

These are all the pieces for assembling the card (plus some baker’s twine and candy dots). I stamped the ship image from the Ahoy Matey! stamp set through the porthole in the front of the card (that way it is perfectly placed inside the card). The anchor was cut with my Silhouette Portrait using the coordinating Ahoy Matey! cut file, then stamped with the anchor image. I stamped the Ahoy Matey! sentiment and die-cut it with a die from the Fancy Labels 3 die set.

To get the porthole rim perfectly centered on the inside of the card, I put adhesive on the side to be attached (see shiny areas), then put removable adhesive on the top side of the die cut circle, matching it to the hole in the card, and finally I closed the card.

The circle is perfectly positioned inside the card and the removable adhesive is easily wiped away!

Here is the finished card from a side angle:

I will be entering this card in The Card Concept Challenge #12 - Nautical Theme:

I think my card falls in the Shabby Chic category.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed today's pictorial.

IBS Distressed Spring Lilacs

Happy Friday!

Today I have a card to share that I made using the Inspired by Stamping Spring Lilacs stamp set.

I distressed the edges of the patterned paper, then sponged it along with the doily. The lilac and butterfly images are from the Spring Lilacs stamp set. They were stamped, colored with markers, and fussy-cut. A little glitter pen for highlighting, some pearls, and a sheer bow finished off the vintage, feminine look.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Mother's Day Bouquet stamp set.

The inside sentiment is from the Flower of the Month: Lily of the Valley stamp set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Craftin Desert Divas #33 - Your favorite color (mine is purple!)
