CFC #7 & GPBH Week 8

Happy Monday!

Like just about everyone, when I saw the ornament on the cover of the SU Holiday Catalog, I absolutely had to make one.  I decided to see if I could create it with my Spellbinders Ornament Dies.  But, I chose to begin with Halloween rather than Christmas!

Today's ornament is for Crafty Friends Challenge #7, which is to create anything Halloween-themed, and for Week 8 of The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop.

As the Spellbinder Dies are different sizes than the Framelits, I used a 2 1/4 circle base.  Can you see the sparkle?  The entire ornament, including the tulle, was spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Mist.  Yesterday I ordered Halloween Baker's Twine, so, when that arrives, I will be adding it where the SU sample had (I think) Linen Thread.  Overall, I am quite pleased with it and will definitely make a Christmas version.

Supplies used:  SU Ghostly Greetings DSP, Pumpkin Pie Button and Champagne Shimmer Mist, CTMH Pearl and Tulle, and Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments 2010 and 2011.

Edited to add:  I used the second smallest die from the 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and the third (middle) die from the 2011 Heirloom Ornaments.  The rosette was made with a 3/4 x 12 strip of DSP.

GPBH Week 7 and OCL #134

Happy Monday!

Today's card is for Week 7 of The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop and this week's OCL Challenge, All About Twine.

The 'window' card on page 101 of the CTMH catalog caught my attention.  As I kept looking at it last night, the idea/design came to me for today's card.

Details:  The valance was cut at 3 3/4 W x 1 1/2 H, then scored at 1/4 and 1/2 on three sides.  Each curtain was cut at 3 W x 2 3/4 H, scored every 1/4, then tied with baker's twine (distressed with black ink).  You may not be able to tell from the picture, the spider is suspended from the valance with baker's twine.  The black layer is a metal sheet that I sanded after embossing.

Supplies used:  Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango CS, Provo Craft PP, Rock Star Black Metal Sheet, Versafine Onyx Black Ink, Dusty Durango and Old Olive Markers, Sizzix Texture Plate, EKSuccess Spider Punch, SU Baker's Twine, OCL Spooky Tags and SU Wicked Cool Stamp Sets.

OCL #133 - Use OCL Stamps!

Happy Thursday!

Today's card is for this week's OCL challenge, which is to use OCL stamps.  On Monday, OCL released a free digi image, called Love Floats, that Debbie Corbari designed.  When I saw this card design, I knew exactly what I wanted to create with the digi.

Here is the card closed:

And, open with the pull-out:

Details:  I did a lot of fussy cutting/paper piecing for this card.  I printed the digis for the inside of the card smaller than the one for the front.  I really like how the one hangs over from the insert to the inside of the card.  The striped piece on the bottom of the insert is a pocket for either cash or a gift card (I plan to give this card to my niece for her 18th birthday).  btw, I used real baker's twine (yes, from a bakery box!).

Note:  Rather than starting with a 9 x 12 sheet of paper, as per the linked tutorial, I used a 5 1/2 x 12 piece and cut on an angle to 3 1/2 on the one end.  I was then able to use a piece of the cut off for the pocket on the insert.

Supplies used:  Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Real Red, So Saffron, and Soft Suede CS, MME Miss Caroline PP, Baker's Twine, Misc. Button, OCL Love Floats Digi, and OCL In Flight and Out for a Spin Stamp Sets.

Thanksgiving Quadruple Easel Card

Happy Monday!

Today I have an exceptional (IMHO!) card/creation to share with you.  Regina had sent me this link and asked, 'why don't we each make this?'  So, we did! Regina made this beautiful card for her friend's birthday and I made a Thanksgiving one.

Here is the picture of it closed:

The next four pictures show each easel:

And, finally, the inside of the card:

It is hard to believe this card barely measures 6x6!

I have to tell you, I amazed myself with this.  And, I was a wee bit worn out when I finished it.  It did take one and one half days to complete!  I think the next one may go a little quicker.

I would love to know what you think of today's card.  Have you ever made a quadruple easel card?  Are you now going to try one?

Supplies used:  CTMH Creme Brulee CS, SU Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Pumpkin Pie, Sage Shadow, and Soft Suede CS, SU Autumn Vine DSP, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango Inks, Marianne Designs, Sizzix, and Spellbinders Dies, Pearls, and Flourishes Autumn Flourishes, OCL Giving Thanks, and SU Holiday Best Stamp Sets.

The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop - Week 6

Happy Saturday!

It's week six already of Terry's Great Pumpkin Blog Hop.

Today I have pumpkin placecards/nugget holders.  I will be using these for my annual girls' night.  Every October we go out to dinner and then back to my mother's for dessert (I do all the baking).  Stacey refers to it as 'the after party.' It is always a fun evening with lots of laughs and chatting into the wee hours.

The box between the pumpkins holds three Hershey Nuggets. The measurements for the box are 3" x 3 3/4", scored at 1" all around.

Supplies used:  Certainly Celery, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede CS, MS Grass Border Punch, and Spellbinders Leaves and Pumpkins Dies.

You have until Tuesday @ 1:00 PM Pacific Time to add/link your latest Halloween creation to this week's hop.

Corner Bookmark

Happy Friday!

I finally made a corner bookmark!  What took me so long?  I followed the tutorial on SCS and it was so quick and easy.  As I recently purchased a script  alphabet stamp set, I see monogrammed corner bookmarks for future projects!

Here's a picture of it on a book:

Supplies used:  Lovely Lilac and Regal Rose CS, Flowers for You DSP, Lovely Lilac Ink, Spellbinders Square and Scalloped Square Dies, SU Beautiful Wings Embosslet, Scallop Trim Border Punch, and Rhinestones, and OCL In Flight Stamp Set.

Today's bookmark is for two challenges:

Surprise from Diana

Happy Thursday!

Today I want to share the birthday surprise I received from Diana:

Can you believe Diana made me a shirt?!?!?  She is really amazing.  The colors are so pretty and it fit perfectly!  I already wore it last week, but forgot to have my picture taken.

Diana also included a mini album and a very pretty birthday card.  Here is a close up of of the card:

Thank you so much, Diana, for this very special birthday surprise.
