Christmas Chair Place Cards

Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday.

Today I have some Chair Place Cards (CbyAR Have a Seat template) to share.

First up are the three I made for my good blog friend, Ann.  They were cut by hand as I had a problem with the blade in my new Silhouette Portrait.

Next up are two of the four that I cut with my Silhouette Portrait once the replacement blade arrived.

Here is a picture of my table for Christmas dinner:

And, a picture of the trifles I made for Christmas Eve (the smaller one is a sugar-free version):

Supplies used:  Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold, Cherry Cobbler, Close to Cocoa, and Very Vanilla CS (Ann's chairs), Brushed Silver, Old Olive, Real Red, and White CS (my chairs), Liquid Applique, Pearls, Rhinestones, and Stickles, EKSuccess Snowflake and MS Holly Punches, Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday and Layered Poinsettia Dies, SU Holiday Collection Framelits and Round, Scalloped Round, and Stocking Punches, Flourishes Warm Winter Wishes, HC Petite Poinsettia, OCL Jolly Ornaments, and SU Fireside Christmas and Scensational Season Stamp Sets.

IBSIC #39 - A Christmas Eve Cake

Happy Wednesday!

This week's IBSIC Challenge is a Christmas Photo/Color Challenge (Sage Green, Red, and White/Cream).

Here is the inspiration photo:

And, here is my Christmas Eve Cake:

The poinsettias have a lot of dimension and sparkle.  I put name tags on each slice so I could put specific goodies inside for each person (i.e., Joe is diabetic and only eats plain, dark chocolate, Wolfgang likes dark chocolate mints, etc).  The tags are attached with glue dots to the cake top.  The 3D trees are attached with pop dots on the bottom so the cake top can easily slide behind the tree.

I used my new Silhouette Portrait (early Christmas present) to cut the cake tops (Creations by AR Piece 'o Cake template).  What a time saver from the last cake I made (here).  I still did cut the cake bottoms by hand as I have not yet mastered the right settings for cutting through SU CS.  I wasted five sheets on another project.  The Silhouette company said I may have received a defective blade and they are mailing me a new one.

Supplies used:  Mellow Moss, Real Red, and GP White CS, Mellow Moss DSP, Spellbinders 2010 Holiday Tree and Layered Poinsettias Dies, Fiskars Small and Large Tag Punches, SU Petals-a-Plenty EF, Baker's Twine, Rhinestones, Stickles, and HC Petite Poinsettia Stamp Set.

Hmmm, I wonder, will I still need to make trifle for Christmas Eve?!?!?

Thanks for stopping by!

Exploding Gift Card Holder Box for Mom

Happy Sunday!

Today I have the Exploding Gift Card Holder Box that I made for my mother for Christmas.

I wish you could see the poinsettias in real--they are so pretty and sparkly.

The middle holds a gift card and there are snowflakes on acetate in each corner.  The pictures are my grandparents, my nieces, my parents, and a family photo of my mother, brothers, and myself.

The exploding box is 12 x 12 scored and cut at 4 all around, the gift card holder is 3 1/4 x 7, scored at 3 1/2 (the opening was made with a 1 circle punch, and the 'wedge' holding up the gift card holder is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, scored at 1, 2, and 3.  The top is 4 1/8 with a 1 side.  The acetate for the snowflakes is 1/4 x 4, scored at 1/2 and inserted in slits in the corners of the mat.  The pictures are 3 3/4 x 3 3/4.

Supplies used:  Real Red, Shimmery White, Very Vanilla, and Wild Wasabi CS, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, and Versafine Vintage Sepia Inks, SU Spellbinders Layered Poinsettias and Fleur de Lis Squares Dies, SU Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die, Rhinestones and Stickles, HC Petite Poinsettia, OCL Jolly Ornaments, and SU Fireside Christmas Stamp Sets.

I will be linking today's project to the following two challenges:

IBSIC #39, which is a Christmas Photo/Color Challenge (Sage Green, Red, and White/Cream)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - What's Your Favourite?? (my favorite is Spellbinders Dies)

12 Tags of Christmas, Day 4 - My Versions

Happy Tuesday!

Have you been following the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist on Ellen Hutson's Blog?  Each day a beautiful feminine tag and tutorial are featured.  Today I have two versions of Jennifer McGuire's tag from Day 4.

I used the plastic packaging from a set of Spellbinders Dies for the clear tags.  The Spellbinders Die did not cut through the heavy plastic, but it made a very deep impresssion that was easy to cut with paper snips.

Supplies used:  Bashful Blue & Pink Pirouette CS, White Glimmer & Glitter Papers, Silver Metal Tape Sheet, Marina Mist, Melon Mambo and Staz-On Opaque Cotton White Inks, EKSuccess and MS Snowflake Punches, SU Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches, Marianne Creatables Sleigh Die, Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday and Labels 10 Dies, Rhinestones, Wired Tinsel, and Flourishes Christmas Classics, Sleigh Ride and Warm Winter Wishes Stamp Sets.

Advent Calendar

Happy Monday!

The house is decorated, the cards have been started, and Wolfgang's Advent Calendar is finished!

I took the picture last evening so the lights would show.  Of course, it is much nicer in real.  I have to say, I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

Some details:  I started with a Kaisercraft Beyond the Page Advent Calendar kit.  It was a big job painting and assembling the pieces.  I used Craft Smart Gloss Acrylic Paint and sponge brushes.  The calendar box took two coats of Tuscan Red and the numbers four coats of White.  Luckily, this paint dried quickly.

I hot glued the string of lights (it is a necklace that I bought at M's) and hid the switch behind the fireplace (3x3x1).  The mantel is adorned with branch punches and poinsettias.  The Comfy Sofa was cut at 66% (the bottom slides out for the '25 box.'  Our names for the stockings and the mini picture were printed in Word.  The Noel banner was 'strung' with Baker's Twine.

Supplies used:  Basic Black, Brushed Silver, Crushed Curry, Kraft, and Shimmery White CS, Various brands of PP, Versafine Satin Red Ink, Punches:  EKSuccess Star, MS Branch, and SU Stocking, Sizzix Teddy Bear Die, Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments, 2010 Holiday Trees, Fleur de Lis Squares, and Layered Poinsettia Dies, Creations by AR Comfy Sofa Template, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Rhinestones, Ornament Light Necklace, and IBS Fancy Alphabet Stamps.

Challenges:  I will be linking the Advent Calendar to IBSIC #37 (Inspiration Photo along with the colors Green, Red, and White) and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (Anything Goes).

Here is the IBSIC Inspiration Photo:

Speaking of IBSIC, I will be a Guest Designer on January 10!  Whoo hoo!!!

Frame-It Train for Dylan

Happy Sunday!

Today I have a card that I made for my friend Stacey's son's 3rd birthday.  I actually made the card in September, so this is another post I am lax in getting around to.

I used the Creations by AR Frame-It Train Card template for this adorable card.  Dylan loves Thomas the Train and the picture in the frame was taken when he visited Thomas.

Supplies used:  Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Metallic Silver, Real Red, and Whisper White CS.

The 'Dylan' and 'Happy Birthday' train fonts are free downloads.

A Gift and a Blog Award

Happy Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving!

I am lax in making this posting.  As today is Thanksgiving, I didn't want another day to go by without giving thanks to Diana.

Here is the adorable Acorn Treat Box (it was filled with  yummy truffles!) that she made:

Diana also nominated me for a blog award:

Thank you Diana!

IBSIC #35 - Ornament Easel Card

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a card I created for Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #35.  Actually, I have two cards (more on that later in the post!).

Here is the inspiration photo:

And, here is my Ornament Easel card:

The 'Joy' stamp is from an Easter set and the 'Noel' was created with an Alphabet set.

Supplies used:  Brushed Gold, Certainly Celery, and Pink Pirouette CS, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink Ink, Emboss It and Gold EP, Petals a Plenty EF, Spellbinders Oval, Poinsettia, and Scalloped Oval Dies, Rhinestones, Eucalyptus and Glam Pink Stickles, IBS Seam Binding, and IBS Easter and Fancy Alphabet Stamp Sets.

As I said earlier in this post, I had made two cards.  Well, I looked at the challenge when it was posted and thought about what type of card to make.  It was a day or two later that I went to my craft room to actually make the card.  Yesterday, as I was preparing to post the card, I realized the challenge was to use gold, pink, and white.  I had used pink and silver!  Back to the craft room I went to start over!  That's my story, sad but true.

So, I thought I would share the first card anyway:

Supplies used:  Certainly Silver, Pink Pirouette, and Silver CS, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink Ink, Emboss It and Silver EP, Petals a Plenty EF, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, Oval, and Poinsettia Dies, Rhinestones, Eucalyptus and Glam Pink Stickles,  IBS Seam Binding, and IBS Easter and Fancy Alphabet Stamp Sets.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you got a laugh out of my goof.  Lesson learned, read and re-read!

Happy crafting!

Creations by AR Christmas Customer Blog Hop

Happy Saturday!

Welcome to the Creations by AR (Adela Rossol) Christmas Customer Blog Hop.  I am stop number one and there is a total of nine stops (see list below).

For today's hop I used the Gourmet Take Out Set.  This is a set of two templates, tall and short.

First up is a picture of the front of my boxes side by side:

Here are all four sides of the tall box:

Each side is different, yet similar.  I really like the Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas theme.

And, all four sides of the short box:

Lastly, a picture of the top of the boxes:

Please see end of post for supply list.

The Gourmet Take Out Set is so cute and easy to assemble.  Adela's templates come in PDF (for those of you like myself that hand-cut templates) and cut file (for those of you lucky enough to have an electronic cutter).

Now, what would a blog hop be without a prize?  One random commentor will win a $5.00 gift certificate to Creations by AR.  Comments will close at midnight (Eastern Time) on Monday, November 19 and the blog hop winner will be announced Tuesday, November 20 on the Creations by AR Facebook Page and on my blog.

Here is the blog hop list:

Lisa Eisner (that's me!)
Debbie Speijers

HC Design Team Non-Winning Card and 3D Project

Happy Sunday!

I was not chosen for a position on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team.  I was very honored to have made it as a semi-finalist and I thank everyone who voted for me.  Though I am disappointed not to have made the DT, I am more upset not having received any communication from HC.

Today I am sharing the card and 3D project that I submitted to HC for the final round.

First up is an easel card (finished size 5 1/2 x 5 1/2):

Supplies used:  Bazzill CS, HC Classic Editions Paper, Staz-On Timber Brown and Versafine Vintage Sepia Inks, HC Falling Leaves Dies, HC Open Falling Leaves Stamps, Champagne Shimmer Mist, and Burlap.

Next is a luminary:

The inside is finished with the same paper as the outside:

Supplies used:  Bazzill CS, HC Classic Edition Paper, Staz-On Timber Brown Ink, HC Falling Leaves Dies, HC Open Falling Leaves Stamps, Champagne Shimmer Mist, Prima Tea Thyme Crystals, and Vellum.

Perhaps I will see my creations on display at StampFest in February.
