Standing Flower Pot Gift Card Holder

Happy Monday!

I love the flower pot cards that I see a lot of crafters creating. When I saw the template Adela posted for a free-standing flower pot, I knew right away I wanted to make one for my mother for Mother's Day. The template is available in PDF, SVG, and DXF formats.

After cutting the flower pot from SU Old Olive card stock, I sponged the edges with matching ink. The flowers were made with a SU Flower Embosslet, flower punch, and 1/4" punch (all retired) using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red card stock. The Old Olive swirls were made with the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlet. The sentiment is from the Well Scripted set and the ribbon is Real Red Satin. I punched the butterfly from Bashful Blue card stock with an MS punch.

I attached the gift card with a removal glue dot.

The flower/for you image is from the retired Tagger's Dozen set. I inked the flower with Pumpkin Pie, then used the Real Red marker on some of the petals and the wording.

Are you a member of Paper Craft Planet? If so, you will see that my Flower Pot was chosen as one of this week's Shooting Stars!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

SCS Virtual Stamp Night Mini

Happy Saturday!

Have you ever participated in any of the SCS VSNs? My friend Jean has been encouraging me to participate. She has been a VSN hostess for some of the past challenges. Last evening there was a VSN Mini so I popped in and decided to participate in two of the challenges. In case you aren't familiar with VSN, there is challenge posted every hour and each challenge must be completed within 45 minutes.

So, on to the challenges I participated in.

The first one was to make a monochromatic baby card. This was perfect timing as Wolfgang asked me a couple of weeks ago to make a card for his daughter, but I hadn't gotten around to it. So, here is the card for Katja:

The Onsie base is Pretty in Pink and I embossed just the front with a SU Background Texturz plate (small dots). The trim is from the Tea Party DSP. The little onsie (retired SU stamped) was stamped with Pretty in Pink on Whisper White, then layered on Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, & DSP. You can find the tutorial for the onsie-shaped card here.

The stamp used on the inside is from the retired Punches Three set.

The second challenge I participated in was to create a card with at least one popped-up flower.

The image is from the Spring Song set. It was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on Shimmery White paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. I watercolored with re-inkers and markers. The ovals were cut using a Coluzzle template. I stamped two additional flowers and, after hand-cutting them, attached them with pop dots. The card base is Old Olive and the matting is Regal Rose. The Thank You on the inside is a retired SU stamp.

There is still time to participate in last evening's VSN Mini. You have until 10:00 PM EST on Monday, April 26 to upload your cards for the challenges.
Happy crafting!

Happy Wednesday & Happy 2nd Blogerversary to me!

Thank you for your kind comments and good wishes. Some of you were amused by Random.Wolfgang. Well, to be honest, I have no idea how to use So, I wrote all the names on slips of papers, shook them up in a container, and had Wolfgang pull one out.

And, the winner is...

Susan (aka Peebsmama)

Congratulations Susan! I'll be sending you an E-mail.

2nd Blogerversary Blog Candy!

Happy Wednesday!

Next Wednesday is my 2nd Blogerversary! It's hard to believe nearly two years have passed since I nervously made my first post and patiently waited for my first comment. I have met so many wonderful and creative bloggers during this time.

As a little thank you for taking the time to visit me, I have a few of my favorite things to share with one random winner. Some of my favorite things are SU stamps, MS punches, red line tape, and mini albums. Here is the prize package:

Included is a SU All about Occasions (retired) stamp set, an MS cupcake border punch, red line tape in 1/8" & 1/4" widths, and a round scalloped chipboard album.

Please leave a comment on this post to be entered. This blog candy will remain open until midnight EST on Tuesday, April 20. I will announce the winner (via Random.Wolfgang) on my actual Blogerversary, Wednesday, April 21.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck in the drawing.

Lady Bug Card

Happy Monday!

I made this card based on an adorable 'Love Bug' box that Raissa had in her January Newsletter.

The lady bugs (SU retired Darling Dots) were stamped using Basic Black and Real Red markers on a White Top Note. I punched the grass with an MS punch using Old Olive card stock. This was layered on a Basic Black Top Note.

The lady bug was made with the Curly Label punch and attached with pop dots. The ribbon is 3/4" Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain. I then layered it on Real Green and an Old Olive card base.

Thanks for stopping by.

p.s. I'll be posting Blog Candy this week for my 2nd Blogerversary!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

As soon as I saw Karli's basket on Friday I had to make one. I did make some changes, but the idea came from her posting. To start, I made my basket larger (3 1/2 x 3 1/2) to accomodate the York Peppermint Patties.

Here is the front view:

And, the side view:

I used SU Old Olive for the basket and the patterned papers are from the retired Flowers for You DSP. The pink layer on the handle is Regal Rose punched with the scallop trim border punch (was free during SAB!). The 'Happy Easter' is from the new Well Scripted set. It was stamped in Old Olive, punched with the SU oval scallop punch and then layered on an oval punch of Regal Rose. The grass border, fence border, butterfly, and bunny are all MS punches.

Thanks for stopping by.

btw: Raissa has some retired DSP and In-Color card stock that she is offering at very reasonable prices.

Sweet Treat Bunnies

Happy Thursday!

We had thunderstorms all day Sunday so I spent the day in my craft room making these Sweet Treat Bunny Chocolate Bars:

I used SU Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss, Pretty in Pink (for the ears), & So Saffron card stock and Delicate Dots (retired), Hostess Patterns Pack III, & Tea Party DSPs. I made 'trap doors' so the candies can be accessed without ripping the wrappers. The girl bunnies have bows on their heads to pull the trap doors and the boy bunnies have bow ties. The reason one bunny is shorter is because that one is made with a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and the taller bunnies are Hershey bars.

Here is how the bunny looks when the candy is removed:

And, here is a 'rear' view:

This is how I packaged them:

I printed each person's name on card stock and punched it out with a MS bunny punch. The Happy Easter sentiment is from the SU Well Scripted set (Occasions Mini Catalog). Love the font! After much debate back and forth, I ordered this set in the new clear mount option. I was so uncertain about not getting the traditional wood mount. Guess what? Yes, I am very happy with the clear mount!
Thanks for stopping by.
